While waiting at the traffic light at Main Street and Custer I noticed that they had poured the concrete for part of the new road on the Frisco side. It appeared that the concrete was only 6 or 8 inches thick. It seems that a road that gets as much heavy truck traffic as Main should have thicker concrete. The concrete they are putting in on Preston for the new lanes near 121 appear to be thicker. Is this new road going to fail and become potholed soon after it is opened?

Per Hulon Webb, Senior Civil Engineer:

The roadway was designed by a Licensed Professional Engineer in accordance with the Texas Department of Transportationís criteria. It is designed with heavy truck traffic in mind and to last for many years.
