I saw today that the city is heading into Stage 2 of watering restrictions. I have a couple of questions. First, every night when I drive home on Warren between Legacy and Preston, several of the sprinklers are pointed the wrong way and are simply watering the cars and the street. I am sure this is not the only spot in Frisco this happens as well. If the city is going to ask the citizens of Frisco to curb their watering, is the city also planning on cutting down as well??

Thank you for your note. We take the watering restrictions very seriously and comply with the restrictions as directed.
With the exception of those areas that have newly planted grass or sod in place that receive a exemption for this usage, our watering patterns take place at night or within the guidelines of the restrictions.
With over 1,500 stations and over 15,000 irrigation heads in place throughout the city, there are occasions in which heads will be misdirected or damaged. I would urge you and others that see this to please contact our office so that we can look into this further.
The area that you have mentioned is actually still under a construction contract and not yet accepted by the City for our maintenance. We have passed along your comments to Engineering Services, which oversees these contractors so that they can correct this as soon as possible.
In addition, the area in and around the Stonebriar Mall area (Dallas North Tollway to the west; Parkwood Drive, north from SH 121 to near Lebanon Road; and Preston Road to the east) are all maintained by the Frisco Bridges Association and not the City of Frisco. All of these systems are watered through the use of private wells and not tied to the City's water system.
Having said that, the Bridges management company also tries to comply with the watering times identified in the ordinance. If you see examples where this is not being complied with, please let us know and we will advise them immediately.
Please let us know if you should have any additional questions.
