My wife and I are investigating changing our phone service to Voice Over Internet (VOIP). Can someone tell me if the Frisco 911 system supports this? The VOIP vendor tells me it does. Questions I have are - if my child dials 911 - will the dispatcher have our address? Does the call ring to a normal 911 emergency line - or some other non emergency line? Again - the vendor tells me one thing - I hear other information from neighbors. Thanks

VoIP does not come through the 9-1-1 line, but instead comes in on an emergency line. If your child dials 9-1-1 from a VoIP line it will appear that 972.335.5505 was dialed and no location information is known.
