Yesterday we received two new trash carts. So every year City will provide new trash carts or is it due to new contractor?

How often city will provide yard waste bag for grass and other?

Thanks

Thank you for your enquiry. Actually you received one grey trash cart and one blue recycling cart. The new equipment is due to a change in the contractor, your trash and recycling services will now be provided by Community Waste Disposal.

There are no changes to collection days and all of your trash, recycling and yard waste will be picked up the same day.

The yard waste bag was provided with the delivery to emphasize the need to recycle this material. It is not allowed to be placed in the recycling container.

The more materials that the city recycles the less landfill charges we have to pay. A cost savings to you the consumer as the amount you pay per month covers this charge.

Thank you for your interest and support of our environmental programs.

Will the old green trash bin be picked up soon or is it up to us to do something with it?

I should have adressed this in my previous email, my apologies. The old green cart and recycling bin will be collected the week of 2nd August. Continue to use these rather than your new equipment. You can begin using the latter the week of August 2nd.

Thanks for your support.

If we don't recycle, do we have to keep the new, larger recycle cart? My family is small and does not generate much trash. The new cart is too large to fit in our garage with the other trash cart. Can the recycle cart be returned?

I currently have 2 garbage cans since I have a large family. I only received 1 new garbage can in additiona to the recycling can. How can I request a 2nd garbage can? I'm confident that 1 bin won't be enough.

Thanks,
Ron

Our two green trash carts were picked up today. I thought I was following directions by not yet using the blue and grey carts - but when the green carts were picked up they dumped the contents into the blue recycling cart - and most of it most definitely does not belong in the recycle cart. I'd rather not attempt to transfer the trash from the blue to the grey cart - should I just roll it out as is on the next collection day (August 2nd)? Also, we did not receive a yard waste bag at either of our Frisco houses.

Is it ok if we keep our old green bins to use inside the house? I have cleaned mine and put it in my pantry to use as a convenient place to put my items until I can take them out to the larger can. Also, we have only occasionally recycled before, but plan to make a real effort with the new system, is there some sort of easy to read list that I can post in my kitchen to help me remember what I can and can't put into the recycle bin? I saw the list on the large recycle can and that is good, but I keep forgetting, so something inside the house would be nice.

Thank you for your enquiry. The bins are the property of Community Waste Disposal the city's recycling contractor. Residents are requested to place them out for collection during the week of August 2nd on their regular collection day. They will be removed at that time.

Perhaps you could give me a call in my office at 972-335-5598 so that we can discuss some options.

Thanks for your recycling and have a great day!

I currently have two gray trash bins & only need one. I would like one picked up. I have tried calling 972-335-5519 but the only option you have is to leave a message & it says the mailbox is full and to call back another time. Is there another number I can call? Thank you.

My green recycling bin has not been picked up yet. Should it have been? If so, whom do I contact to collect it. If not how long should I expect it to be sitting in the alley?

With the changing of trash cans and recycling bins, why didn't the city send out a mailer to all residents explaining the transition with dates, etc.?

Our Fairways neighborhood's green trash bins have been sitting in the streets and alleys all week and still haven't been picked up despite our calls. Looks ugly. Can't anyone help?

Dear Mr. Fuller,
Every effort was made to inform residents about out change of service. You should have received a "Special EditionP copy of our Environmental Newsletter "Heard from the Curb" explaining service transition and new services. This was attached to the handle of your blue recycling cart. If this was not the case, my apologies.
The City's newsletter "Focal Point" has also featured articles about our change in service. This is distributed to every single family household in Frisco. Information was also posted on the web.
Again my apolgoies if you did not receive the information that you needed.
Please contact me at 972-335-5598 should you need further assistance.
Thanks for recycling!

Please contact my office at 972-335-5519 or 972-335-5558 to arrange for collection of your recycling bin. You may also, if you wish, chose to place it in your new blue recycling cart for collection next week.

So sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks for Recycling!
