What is the law in Frisco regarding dogs in public without leashes? What can I do about all the leashless dogs I see near my home?

Dogs are not allowed to be at large or otherwise not controlled by their owners. When outside the confines of yard areas, dogs must be under the physical control of their owner or the owner’s designee by a leash, chain, cord, or rope. The SPCA currently handles Frisco’s animal control services. If you have an issue with dogs running at large, please call police dispatch at 972-335-5505 and they will request the SPCA to respond. Depending on the time of day and the circumstances, the response may be delayed. In all cases where the dog is thought to be vicious, an emergency response will occur.

Please contact me directly if you have any further questions. For future reference, I am attaching a copy of our animal control ordinance.
