I've taken my son to the new Frisco Commons park and we both had a good time but on each occasion we have gone the fountain on the veterans memorial section in not running. Is this fountain on a timer or does it only run duriing certain days during the week?

Chris,

I have forwarded your message onto Dudley Raymond, who is our Capital Projects Superintendent and is very familiar with this project so that he can provide a clear answer to your question.

Dudley is out of the office today, but will return on Thursday, September 30, 2004.

Thank you for your patience.

Chris,

The fountain has been turned off since the grand opening. The arrival of the fountain was several months late, it took great effort to have it operational for the grand opening on September 11th. As a matter of fact we were not sure that it would be operational until about 7:30 P.M. on September 10th. Consequently, we were not able to test everything as much as we would like and there are a few issues the supplier needs to work out.

All this being said, the fountain is turned off until the supplier meets staffs expectations and the product requirements. I believe that it will be completed and turned on in the next 7-10 days.

I apologize for it not working.

Any status on the fountain? I was there last week and the week before that, but the fountain is still not working.

Chris,

The supplier mentioned in previous threads continue to work on the fountain. In order to provide the needed repairs, they need to lift the ball off of its base.

As you know, our recent rainy weather has caused the grounds near the memorial to be too wet for the contractor to bring in necessary equipment to lift the granite ball off of its base.

The supplier is trying to get a truck scheduled for this week before it rains again. As this takes place, the supplier will continue to move forward and have the fountain operational as soon as possible.

We will continue to monitor this to its conclusion. If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to let me know.
