One of the key elements in my decision to buy a house in Panthers Creek was the two city parks that were going to be built there. So far only the playgrounds are functional. There is no grass fot the "promissed" soccer/softball fields. When can we have those parks fully functional.

Thanks for your note regarding the two Panther Creek neighborhood park sites (Mourning Dove and BobWhite).

Both of these sites are still under construction by the contractor and not yet completed. Removal of existing weeds and ground cover will be taking place over the next couple of weeks and hydromulching of the two park sites will occur shortly thereafter.

Establishing turfgrass at these locations will take several weeks time and will be assisted by increasing temperatures and moisture by the automated irrigation system in place.

I would anticipate that the establishment of grass will be completed at some point within the next couple of months. Once grass has been established properly, we will finalize and accept the project as completed. Until that time, I would remind everyone that this is a construction site and that the contractor will prohibit activity on this site until completed. This is especially the case while hydromulching is taking place and grass is being established.

Should you have any additional questions regarding either of these two projects, please feel free to let me or our staff know.

re: Mourning Dove park.

Is there any plans to put in additional ammenities such as tennis court? If not what can the home owners do to propose that to the city?

Dear Mr. Yeo,

Thanks for your note regarding plans to add other amentities such as tennis courts to Mourning Dove park.

Specific to your question, there are no current plans to add tennis courts on to the Mourning Dove park site. The current development components for the park have all been included into the project and reflect the approved master plan for the park site.

We do not typically provide tennis courts or other lighted facilities to neighborhood parks. If this is something that you would like to see added to Mourning Dove Park, you are certainly welcome to voice your concerns and suggestions to the Parks and Recreation Board at one of their regular meetings.

The Board typically meets on the second Thursday of each month and hold most meetings at the City Council chambers, which is located at the Frisco Municipal Complex.

For more information about the next meeting of the Board, feel free to contact me or my staff at (972) 335-5517.
