I've seen a lot of signs posted on land requesting a zoning change. Is there a list of the proposed zoning changes somewhere? I'd like to see some summarized list of what is being rezoned.

You can find a list of submitted zoning cases per month on the City's web page. This can be accessed by:
Move the arrow to “Grow” in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Click on “Planning”
Click on “Development” on the left side of the page.
Click on “Monthly Zoning/Development Submittals”
Click on “Zoning / Development Submittals” on the left side of the page
Click on the month that to show the cases submitted. The information is provided per quadrant of the city.

Is there a way to check the current zoning of an area or plot of land in Frisco?

Yes. When you access the City's web page, click on the GIS Maps icon and this allows you to access the data. You may also visit the Planning & Development Department. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located at 6875 Main Street.

I noticed on the GIS map that the platinum park (South of Main on Legacy) is zoned as "Mixed". was this changed recently? Also what kind of business can go on an industrial zone?

The Platinum Park area is part of a Planned Development that allows for a mix of land uses. The primary uses are those that are allowed in the Office-2, Commercial-1, Commercial-2, Retail and Industrial zoning districts. There are a few uses associated with those districts that are not allowed but they are few. The property was zoned this classification in 1985 with a revision to the PD done in 2000.
For a list of all the land uses that are allowed in the various zoning districts I would refer you to the Planning & Development Services page on the City's site for a link to the City's Zoning Ordinance. There you can find all of the land uses that are allowed in each district.
