Who handles the emptying/cleaning out of the garbage cans in the cities parks? And how often is this procedure done?
I ask because I just returned from Preston Ridge Park where the garbage cans have apparently not been emptied in some time because there a maggots the size of nickels in them and the smell is ungodly!
If possible can these garbage cans be emptied, and possibly sanitized so that the smell, and the infestation that has apparently taken place is eliminated?
Thanks for your time.

Thank you for your comments regarding the trash receptacles at Preston Ridge Park.
We typically check and empty these recepticles on a weekly basis or more if needed. When examined this morning, all of the cans were less than half full. Because of your comments, we did change out the existing receptacles with other containers from another park site. I would tell you that we did not find any evidence of larvae within the receptacles.
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to let me or our staff know.
