I am interested in putting a flagpole on my property. Are there any restrictions governing construction or placement as long as it is outside of all easements?

This information provided below is based on that you are talking about a residential lot. The pole must located on the lot. The maximum height of a flagpole is the maximum height of the zoning district within which it is located. The maximum size of a flag is 60 sqaure feet. The Sign Code does not specify minimum setbacks for a flagpole's location, only that it be on private property. Building Inspection does not require a permit for the pole installation. However, review your plot plan to make sure that the pole in not placed in an easement that would conflict with utilities. Also require the contractor to verify with the utility companies for buried lines, for lines that may have been installed after the preparation of the plot plan.
