Are there any ordinances protecting the trees? I noticed a tree spray painted in my neighborhood with the current resident's names on it. Can someone look into this? The home is near the corner of Woodstream and Hickory. You can't miss it, it has a swing in the front yard.

It is our opinion that Tree Preservation requirements do not cover single-family or two-family lots. Code Enforcement will inspect and check the area for any violations. If you have any questions, you may call Code Enforcement at 972.335.5580, Ext. 188 or 137.

Thank you for your inquiry. We do have an ordinance that protects the destruction of "protected trees" the list of the trees is in the ordinance. If you would like a copy of the Ordinance, please contact our office. The complaint regarding the painting of the tree has been forwarded to Code Enforcement.
