It has been almost a year since the Green Building Program announcement was made. Part of the promise of this program was to allow the owners of existing homes to learn ways to "upgrade" their current homes to make better use of the energy consumed in those homes. Where does this stand? I have heard nothing about it in almost 6 months. Any hint of coming attractions would be appreciated.

The City of Frisco just received a grant from the North Texas Clean Air Coalition to put together an "Existing Homeowner Energy Seminar". We are in the planning stages right now, but we hope to have the seminar near the end of June 2002. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Can I please get clarification on what it means for a house to be "final platted" after May 21, 2001? I don't understand the term final platted that is used on the green building web page.
I moved into my home at then end of November 2001. The house was already built when we bought it, but I do not know exactly when it was completed, so I don't know if we fall under this May 21, 2001 deadline and if we have the "green home" rating. How can I know if we have this rating?

Final plat applies to the City approving the final plat on or after this date. To know if your home falls in this category, please call Jody Purvis at 972-335-5540 ext. 187.

Does Frisco has any plan to start broadcasting city council and P & Z meetings on internet?
I think it would be a great and many more people would be able to listen in.
