When are the arial photos going to be updated on the GIS maps. I know that there are some subdivisions that have been open for at least a year and the photos still show farm fields.

The aerial photo at our web site was made in February 2001. It was purchased in a cooperative arrangement through the North Central Texas Council of Governments. They have a new photo made on a two year cycle, which is adequate for a typical city. Because of our growth we are considering annual or even semi annual photography.

Thanks for the question.

How would one go about asking someone to come review the intersection of Sweetwater and Blue Bay for a 4 way stop sign? This is in the Hillcrest Estates development. This intersection seems dangerous to the children playing in the area. We have witnessed cars speeding and children almost being hit.

We will perform a stop sign warrant study for this intersection. The warrant study includes looking at the traffic volumes and the accident history.

If you would like to know the results of the study, please e-mail me your contact information (

The stop sign warrant study has been completed for this location. Based on the traffic counts, an all-way stop is not warranted.
