Can you tell me what type of retail is planned for the area of land in Panther Creek Estates on Hillcrest south of Panther Creek Parkway? It is marked retail but is actually in the community and backs directly up to some new homes being built. Do you know what requirements (if any) the developer has to protect the neighboring houses from backing up to an unsightly view of the back of a strip mall (for example are they required to build a brick wall and landscaping between the residential neighborhood and the retail establishment)? We are considering building a home in this area and need to know what to expect.

Cristina,

The developer of the retail area will be required to provide screening along the common property line with the residential properties. Screening can be in the form of a brick or masonry screening wall 6-8 feet in height or the planting of two, off-set rows of trees along the property line. The use of landscape materials only option requires approval from the Planning & Zoning Commission. Please feel free to contact me at 972.292.5350 if you should have any additional questions.
