I would like to have a fence company move my privacy fence forward about 15-20 feet on the side of my house for security reasons, and replace some warped fence posts at the same time. Can you please tell me if a permit is required in order to do this? If so, how is one obtained?

The relocation of the fence does require a permit. Permits may be obtained from the Building Inspection Department by submitting an application with a plot plan indicating the location of fence. Fence permit fees are $20.00. We are located at 6101 Frisco Square Blvd., 3rd floor and can be reached at 972 292-5301 if you have questions.

There is a house in my neighborhood which has had their fence "under construction" for several months now. They put up the metal posts earlier this summer and have done nothing since (ie., no wood or boards in sight). It is rather unsightly. Is this ok with Frisco code?

Permits are valid as long as work begins within 180 days of issuance and work does not cease for longer than 180 days after work has begun.
