Can a citizen drill there own water well on there property for watering landscaping only in the City of Frisco? Assuming our HOA has no problem with it. Do we have to have a permit? Thanks.

The City of Frisco does not have any permit requirements for water wells on private property. There are State requirements for distances from property lines and sources of contamination which limit the opportunity for wells on typical residential lots. More information may be obtained from the TDLR website at http://www.license.state.tx.us/wwd/wwd.htm

There are signs up in several locations indicating that non-pottable water is in use for irrigation. Is this a piped in source that residents can subscribe to for irrigation purposes or is it a non accesable source for city residents?

Clarissa:

The purple signs identify water from private sources such as water wells, reuse or reclaimed water specifically developed for that location by the property owner. This water would not be available to residents. Thanks for your inquiry. If you have additional questions, please contact my office at 972-335-5520.
