Will the city continue to issue building permits during this drought (which may continue for years)? Has anyone considered overdevelopment to be a contributing factor both to water restrictions and traffic gridlock? The race to be one of the fastest growing cities is leading to a severe strain on the natural and manmade infrastructure.

Rose:

Currently the water restrictions are directly related to the drought and the excessive use of automatic sprinkler systems. There is water for new development, but we must not continue to waste our water. Future decisions will be based on long range weather forcasts and actual water use data. If you have additional questions, please contact my office at 972-335-5520. Thanks.
