Are there any plans on expanding Main St between DNT and FM423 into 3 lanes on both directions? The traffic has been steadily increasing and I am hoping that City of Frisco will be proactive.

Thanks.

The project to expand Main Street to a total of six lanes from DNT to FM 423 is on a list of projects in the planning stages. The next step will be to identify the funding source for a project costing between $5-10 million (City or County bonds are typical).

At this time, engineering staff has recommended to City Council that Stonebrook Parkway from the DNT west to FM 423 be prioritized for completion to four lanes. Main Street will be widened in the future as funding becomes available.

Thanks Elizabeth. Any sense of timing of the Stonebrook Parkway from DNT west to FM 423 project completion?

Stonebrook from Legacy to Longhorn (east of the railroad) is under design. Plans are being reviewed by the Corp of Engineers and by the railroad for permits. We hope to begin construction on this project by early 2010.

The City is negotiating with a engineering firm for the design of Stonebrook from Fourth Army to FM 423. We hope to begin construction of this project in 2010 as well.
