I missed the meeting for the Grand Park plan. Is there a website address where I can review the outcome of the study and discussion that took place in the meeting?

There is not currently a web link to more information. However, a second meeting of the City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, EDC, Parks & Recreation Board, and CDC to review concepts is scheduled for April 27th at 6:30 in Council Chambers located at 8750 McKinney Rd. The meeting is open to the public.

What exactly is the Grand Park Plan. I hope that this new park is going to include more than just grass, a soccer field, and children's play equipment. I think a good idea is to have a mediation garden with benches, gravel pathways, flowers and/or native plants and quotes from poets similar to the one at the Addison meditation garden. This would only take up a small amount of space (maybe 2 acres of land). I think this is something we really need in Frisco.

Great idea on the meditation garden. We will pass this comment along for consideration. I believe this can be accommodated in one of the phases.

If you contact Gail Stafford at 972-335-5580 ext. 191, she will forward you the presentation on Grand Park at the April 27, 2006 meeting.

What is not proposed in the Grand Park is active recreational areas for such sports as soccer, baseball etc. Some of the proposed uses include a great open space that can used for one large events or subdivided for smaller venues; hike and bike trails; children’s play area, a festival hall building for a variety of uses; and mix use development to the west and north of the site overlooking the park. The northern part of the Grand Park is envisioned to be more urban with development and the southern portion to be more rural.
