It is becoming more and more difficult to turn off of Lenox Lane (Griffin Parc Subdivision) going west or east on Eldorado Pkwy during rush hour in the morning. Is it possible to have a signal light installed? If so, what is the process and likelihood of this happening?

The City recently received TxDOT authorization to allow the City to install a traffic signal on Eldorado Pkwy at Lenox Lane. The design phase for this new traffic signal has just started. The traffic signal design plans will require both the review and approval by the City and TxDOT. However, the City’s goal is to have this new traffic signal under construction by the end of 2012 or early 2013.

With the above mentioned, I propose the speed limit be lowered from 50mph from that intersection eastward to DNT. There are always accidents at Legacy/Eldorado and Market Street/Eldorado

That section of Eldorado Parkway (FM 2934) is owned and operated by the State (the Texas Department of Transportation). Therefore, the City has no control over the speed limit on that road. However, the City and the State follow the same procedure for setting speed limits:
According to state law, speed limits are determined based on engineering studies (a standardized process that is used nationwide). TxDOT conducted the necessary speed zone study after Eldorado was widened and set the speed limit accordingly. The only way TxDOT would change the speed limit on Eldorado is if they conducted another speed zone study and the results indicated a lower speed limit. The most recent speed study that TxDOT conducted on this road was in March of this year and the results indicated the speed limit should remain the same. The earliest we can request that TxDOT conduct another study is March 2013.
