Lake Lavon is 80% full. Lake Ray Roberts is even higher than that. What does it take to drop our Stage from 3 to 2 or even down to 0? Has the muscles problem been resolved?

The North Texas Municipal Water District Board of Directors voted during their January meeting to remain in Stage 3 al least until June 1, 2012. The district will monitor spring rains in March and April to determine restrictions beyond June 1. The cautious decision to remain in Stage 3 is based on the loss of Lake Texoma water that represents about 28% of our supply heading into the summer months. It will take federal legislation to allow the district to pump water from Lake Texoma due to the Zebra Mussels. The earliest that the needed legislation could be passed is during the fall of 2012. None of the water rights for Lake Ray Roberts belongs to our water district.
