I drive eastbound Eldorado towards the DNT in the morning and have noticed the right lane gets really backed up, sometimes past Legacy. Because of this, people usually decide to not wait in line and end up waiting until the last second to try and merge over into the turn lane at the DNT. Every morning I see multiple people either cross the solid white line at the turn lane, or people will actually turn right out of the straight-only lanes.
Can lane bumpers or something be put up here to discourage people from doing this? Or can the police patrol the area more and ticket drivers who do this? I don't know if making the light cycle longer would help as well. I'm worried someone is going to crash into me trying to cut in front of me, or by turning into me while they are turning right out of the wrong lane.

We have a project under design right now that will add a third lane to the frontage road which will then allow us to provide dual right-turn lanes from Eldorado. Construction is expected to start in mid 2012.
In the meantime, the police department has this response: This is a heavily travelled route during morning rush hour. Our Traffic Unit, as well as patrol officers are aware of the congestion in the area. We will pass your request for additional police on to the appropriate personnel for additional monitoring.
