The right turn lane on East bound Eldorado to get onto the Tollway has been closed ever since Eldorado was completed. I don't see any reason for the turn lane to continue to stay closed, when will it be opened? It can get pretty congested there in the mornings and it would be nice to have two right turn lanes open.

The rightmost lane remains closed with barricades because motorists were using the turn lane even though the pavement markers show it to be blocked. As a result, people were turning from both lanes rather the one designated lane.

We will look at making it a double right turn lane if it is needed once the construction of Eldorado east of the DNT is complete. The added capacity on the east side will give us more flexibility with how we time the traffic signal at this interchange. I also think some of the traffic patterns may change because of the improvement.

When we do use a double right turn lane, there are usually three lanes available to turn into. In this case, the southbound service road is only two lanes from Eldorado to the DNT entrance ramp. Adding the third lane on this section of the service road is in the long range plan, but is not funded at this time.
