I looked on the COPS website and do not see a picture of what uniforms they where.

I was at lunch today and saw what I thought were Police Officers in a different uniform. The badges said Frisco Police Department. They were brown uniforms. Are they officers? If not, other than color of uniform what would tell me they were or were not officers. Thanks.

Our Public Service Officers (PSOs) have khaki-colored uniforms that have our police patches on both sleeves; this is most-likely who you saw. These are civilian employees who assist with departmental functions such as child safety seat installations, quartermaster responsibilities, vehicle maintenance and repair, etc. As for our Citizens on Patrol (COPs) members, they wear white-colored shifts with navy blue pants and have patches that clearly identify them as COPs personnel. Thank you for your question.

Does the Police department have volunteer positions with the PSOs?

Public Safety Officers are paid civilian employees with the police department; however, if you wish to volunteer with the police department, there are numerous avenues by which you can do this. For more information on volunteering opportunities with the department, please contact our Community Services Division at 972.292.6144.
