Is Rolater going to be widened? I saw a car counter draped across this morning.

The Engineering Department provides a list of projects along with the status on the city web site under Engineering Services Department. You go there directly by clicking on ineering%20Services%20Final%20-%20NO%20Shading.pdf. On that report you will see this information:

Rolater Road (Custer - Independence) The Project will construct the two east bound lanes of the four lane divided roadway including a bridge over Rowlett Creek. Design of the project, by RLK Engineering, is approximately 50% complete. Construction is expected to begin in late 2008 and require 10 months to complete. (Project Manager: Jason Brodigan )

Rolater Road (Coit Independence) The Project includes the construction of a four lane divided roadway, which will replace the existing unpaved CR69. Sinacola began construction in October 2007. Paving began in late July and was completed in mid August. To accommodate school traffic, the contractor opened the road to a single lane of traffic while final cleanup issues are addressed. The project is expected to be completed in October 2008. (Project Manager: Michael Bulla)

Concerning the traffic counters, the Engineering Services Department routinely collects traffic count data of thoroughfares.

Thank you for your questions.
