Is there a way we can petition for Frisco to look into acquiring a parcel of land for a park? There is a beatiful parcel of land at the southeast corner of Lebanon and Hunters Creek Trail adjacent to Corp of Engineer land. It would be a perfect plot for trails, picnic benches, etc. and the City may be able to connect it up with the regional trail planned along the Corp land. It is currently zoned TH3 and is owned by the Tomlins.

Thanks for your note regarding possible acquisition of parkland near what appears to be our B.F. Phillips Community Park.
It is possible that once that property develops there will be a portion along the creek that will become park property or it may become a portion of the developments common area. At this point we have not considered purchasing the whole property.
I would imagine that would be very costly land to purchase and typically we try not to place parks adjacent to intersections of major thoroughfares. We are making an effort to secure land along the main branch of the creek for the hike and bike trail that connects to the regional park that you mentioned.
You are free to come before the Parks and Recreation Board and make you desires known. They typically meet the second Thursday of each month in the City Council Chambers. The meetings start at 6:30 and there is a public input section where they will allow you to speak on any subject that is not on the agenda for that night's meeting.
Please feel free to contact me if you have additional question.
