We were considering putting up siding.
Do we need a permit to do so? Is there a restriction on the type of siding that can be used and if so, what are our choices?

New homes are required to be 100% masonry construction. Although not considered masonry, cement fiber siding may be allowed in some locations such as bay window, dormers and second floor wall areas above a roof. Cement fiber siding would be allowed for replacement siding on exisitng homes. Permits and inspection for the weather resistive barrier behind the siding would be required.
