For the past several days, the fire hydrants along Woodsboro and Eldorado have occasionally been open and flooding the streets. Is there a reason why these hydrants are opened? Seems like a waste of water when we're just getting out of the water restrictions.

Scott:

We are getting ready to place a new 48 inch water line in service. Flushing new water lines is required prior to sampling for public health purposes. Flushing is also required as routine maintenance system wide to ensure water quality. Thanks.
