I have a couple questions about the Southwest corner of Warren Sports Complex, near Meadow Hill Estates. First, there is some old silt fence that has been there for a few years and not maintained. Is this silt fence from the City or is it from MHE construction that the HOA/Developer needs to address?

Second, the sidewalk on the East side of North County just south of Warren Park is almost always un-usable because of standing water, mud and algae. Who is responsible to maintain the sidewalk and also try to prevent the situation from occuring again? Thanks in advance.

Earhart,

Thanks for your message regarding the Warren Sports Complex siltation fencing that lies along the southwest corner of the park site.

In checking this area, it does appear that it is a part of the original construction development for the subdivision, but lies within the park. Due to this, I will have staff remove this material within the next week. I appreciate your advising us of this.

Your question regarding sidewalk maintenance might be better directed to Gary Hartwell, who is the Director of Public Works. Gary can be reached by calling his office at 972-335-5520 or through his e-mail at ghartwell@friscotexas.gov

Please let me know if you should have any questions regarding this.

Sincerely,

Rick Wieland

Can we an update on when the city will be fixing the problem of the sidewalk on the east side of North County Road south of Warren Sports Complex. The algae, mud and standing water makes the sidewalk unnavigable forcing pedestrians to walk on the road. Thanks!

Abhijit:

We recognize the need to address the sidewalk problem on North County Road. Additional investigation is necessary. We have not scheduled any repairs at this time. If you have any other concerns please contact my office at 972-335-5520. Thanks.

Can you give some information about when this might be addressed? If you recognize there is a problem but don't have any repairs scheduled, do you know when the 'additional investigation' might be done? This has been a problem for quite a while and should be taken care of.

Matt:

The problem water is being generated by excessive watering by the homeowners or by groundwater from an underground stream. Many of the streams dry up during the summer. We need to make sure that we know exactly where the water is coming from. We will continue to monitor the condition during the next few weeks to isolate the source so we can address the real problem. Hopefully, when the weather drys out, we can solve the problem.

Any updates? During the long dry summer months I noticed that every single day this area was wet and waterlogged.

Abhijit:

I have personally observed that the source of water along this sidewalk originates from excessive outdoor watering. The water is actually spilling over the wall onto the sidewalk. We are in the process of contacting the homeowners to inform them of the excessive use of water. If you have additional concerns, please contact my office at 972-335-5520. Thanks.
