Hi,

First of all, Thanks for placing the "Hike and Bike Trail Master Plan" on the website. It is a great resource!

Second... The master plan describes a "Dart Rail Trail - 15' " extending along the railroad tracks running through Frisco. Can you describe this trail in a little bit more detail?

Is the trails creation tied to DART arriving in Frisco?

Is it a 15' sidewalk or what?

Several of the intersections have raised trestles for the tracks. Will this trail include a raised pedestrian walkway?

Thx

Mark,

Thanks for your note regarding the Hike and Bike Trail Master Plan and trails that might be linked to potential mass transit or commuter rail that may take place in the future.

I am asking our Parks Planning and Capital Projects Superintendent, Dudley Raymond to provide a response to you about this issue. He is actually in training today, but I will ask that he provide a response on Thursday.

Thanks,

Mr. Workman

The trail that you have indicated was added to the plan as a long term place holder. I doubt if any construction will occur in the near future. Likely it will be a concrete trail but no designs have been started. There will need to be a destination or trail either north or south of Frisco to justify the need for this trail construction.
