Is anyone else having very poor service with their cell phones in Westfalls Village? We moved up here a year ago, and the cell phones will not work inside the house at all. Outside it's hit or miss. We are trying out a new company to see if it is any better. It is, a little. Here in the house we are getting service, but it is roaming.

Why is the service so poor here? I swear I can see a cell phone tower from my window.

Yes, I have the same problem. I live in the sub next door to you in Waterford Falls. What's worse is Direct TV when you're using an in-attic antaenna for the local channels. I spent a couple hundred dollars having the antaenne installed to keep from buying the service from Direct TV (Pegasus) and still cannot get clear or strong channel signals. I was informed by an "expert" that it had to do with Frisco not permitting or approving some sort of technology/signal tower. Is this true?

Dear Anonymous Too:

The City of Frisco has not made any decision to not permit or approve any type of technology/signal tower. In addition, Direct TV and other dish based TV systems are operated off of sattelites, not towers, so there is no need for any approval from the City in the first place.

Mr. Gray

Is there anyway to know why the cell service is so bad in Westfalls Village? I have only lived here for several months, but it looks like a cell phone tower in the area of 720 & 423. Is that a cell phone tower?

Dear Anonymous-
I believe that there is a cell tower in the vicinity of Main Street and FM423, but it may not be for your provider. Many cell towers have only one service provider (Cingular, Sprint, Verizon, etc.) on it, so being able to see a tower will only be helpful to those that have service with that particular provider. Some providers will allow you to borrow a phone for a day or so to test the coverage in the area in which you live.

Thanks for the question.
