Although I am not complaining I am just curious about all the hay in Frisco. It just lies around until the weeds grow around it. My question is what is done with all this hay it doesn't seem to be sold it just sits around. As I said I'm just curious.

The amount of rain that has occurred in the Frisco area in the last couple of years has led to a grass growth rate that has provided an oversupply of hay for area cattle operations. There are no major ranching operations in the area to consume the excess number of hay bales. In dry years, the number of bales is less due to the increased demand. At times, hay is trucked to areas where demand is greater. With all of the rain in south Texas this year, you can expect to see a large number of excess bales. In addition, properties can receive a tax break by claiming an Agricultural exemption. Hay happens to be the cheapest crop.
