The Frisco Fire Department provides opportunities throughout the year for those interested in pursuing volunteer opportunities with us. Applications are available and may be submitted at all three Fire Stations. Please contact Trent Schulze if you have any questions or require additional information on volunteering.
More extensive training is required for those interested in a career in the fire service. The Frisco Fire Department was one of the first fire departments in the country to provide career level training to private citizens not otherwise affiliated with a fire department and, for that reason, people such continue to inquire about our fire academy. We have held ten fire academies here since the late 1980's. Accelerated growth experienced over the past two to three years has caused us to focus more strongly on meeting the challenges before us, and we have not had the opportunity to hold another career fire academy.
Several facilities have opened in the North Texas area that provide the training necessary for those wanting a career in firefighting. Although we do not endorse or otherwise recommend any of the following training facilities, those located in our immediate area include:
Collin County Community College: 972-548-6837
NTTA: 214-892-3996 or 972-484-1158
Aubrey Fire Department: 940-365-9785
Desoto Fire Department: 972-230-9680
Tarrant County Junior College: 817-515-7718
Please don't hesitate to contact us by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at 972-335-5525 if we can be of further assistance.
