There is a street light in front of our house that shines right in our bedroom window. Is there anything that can be done about this? (Actually the light was out for many months, but has recently been fixed ... unfortunately for us.)

There are numerous types of street lights within the City of Frisco and without knowing the exact type, I am unable to accurately answer your question but will do my best to give you some incite. Some street lights are capable of having shields installed on them to reduce the amount of glare that shines away from the street, but the majority cannot. Even with the shielding, glare from the light will not be completly eliminated. I too have a street light that is in front of my house that shines into my bedroom. I enjoy the security the light brings with it but am not pleased with the glare inside my home at night. The best suggestion that I can offer you is to shield the light with window coverings or if possible, landscape. I personally like having the option because that way you have control over the amount of shielding you want. If you would like me to inspect the light for possibility of shielding or would like to discuss further, please feel free to contact me at (972) 335-5580 ext. 194.
