What is the Proposed Zone Change at the intersection of Oak and County Road?
|Posted on Thursday, April 11, 2002 - 06:19 pm: |
The zoning change is to expand the Original Town Residential zoning to preserve the homes in the area. This subject came up when the City rezoned the downtown area in December 2000.
The City is in the process of developing a "Pattern Book" for the downtown area for both the Original Town Commercial and Original Town Residential zoning districts. The pattern book will identify architectural design elements and building materials for preserving early 20th Century Architecture. The Downtown Master Plan approved in April 1998 recommended that this type of architecture be replicated in the downtown because this is the architectural style Frisco started. The pattern book allows the owner/developer to select features and materials to be incorporated into the design of the home or business. (We will have a meeting on this subject on April 22, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street. This meeting is open to the public.)
Most of the homes on Oak Street represents early 20th Century architectural and the zoning is the first step in preserving the homes.
