Is Frisco addressing the mass transit issue at all? Are we even in on the DART expansion plan? I'm asking because as a curious resident I went to the Frisco Square development trailer and they seem to be using DART as a selling point. However when I call DART they say Friso is not in on the expansion plan. So what is the story?
Currently I work in Downtown Dallas and have to drive to the West Plano Transit Center to catch the 210 bus. On DART's website the expansion map includes a Northwest Transit Center planned off of Spring Creek and the tollway. I called DART to ask when I could look forward to this transit center but could not get an informed answer.
I would appreciate whatever information you can provide on this matter.

The City of Frisco is currently making provisions for future transit related options. For instance, in the current Master Plan we have designated different areas along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway as being "Transit Centers" (the Downtown is one of those areas). In fact, the BNSF Railway is shown on the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG)Mobility 2025 Plan as being a Commuter Rail through the City of Frisco. In addition, the City of Frisco is participating in a joint transit feasibilty study with the cities of McKinney and Allen to access the need and possibility future public transit. In the interim, the City is also investigating the possibility of forming a Transportation Management Association (TMA) to address transit related issues such as vanpools, shuttle service, etc.
