My husband and I are currently considering looking in Frisco for a home, we have a 17-month old daughter and were wondering about the school system. We've heard how great Coppell is and wonder how they compare? Is there a strong sense of community in Frisco?

Thank you for writing in, and thank you for considering Frisco for your new home. Regarding the School System, it is an independent body from the City, but they continually seek to improve their already wonderful system. The School District and the City have a fantastic relationship which is evidenced by the multiple joint projects and partnership ventures that we have done in the past and are planning in the future. They are very open and I am sure that they would love to speak with you to answer any questions that you may have. Shana McKay-Wortham is their Public Information Officer, and she can be reached at 469-633-6020.

Regarding the sense of community, I think that you will find that Frisco is a leader in this area as well. From the annual Homecoming Parade(one of the great partnerships that is led by the School District) to the award-winning National Night Out block parties; from the Centennial Celebration (planned througout 2002) to the state's best Comprehensive Plan, I am certain that you will find that Frisco is honoring its past while continually seeking to grow into its future as a civic leader in the Metroplex. Of course, if you would like any more information, or have any specific quesitons, please feel free to call me anytime at 972-335-5551 x125--I think that if you look, you will see that Frisco truly is a great place to Live, Work, Play, and Grow.

Thanks again-
Jason Gray
Assistant to the City Manager
