Are there any plans to expand Teel Parkway south through The Colony?

There are no plans to make the connection. There are wetlands, a subdivision in Frisco, subdivisions in The Colony, and really nothing to connect to.

The portion of Teel Pkwy south of Lebanon is a four lane divided roadway. This seems like overkill, considering it will only ever serve one small single-family development and partially serve a couple of multi-family developments. It is my understanding that Teel never had the opportunity to link with The Colony, but instead was at one point supposed to loop east then north, reconnecting with Lebanon Rd. Therefore, a four lane divided roadway made sense. Although not the most intuitive scheme for a driver to understand, this idea at least wouldn't have been the aesthetically displeasing and logically disruptive dead-end that the Kingswood Development has now destined Teel to be. Anyway, my question is if there are any plans to improve the look and/or connectivity of Teel's southern dead-end, since we're stuck with it. A greenway trail is proposed for the floodplain just south of the terminus; maybe Teel could transition into some parking and a pavilion, which would function as an access node on the trail. Ultimately, it just bothers me that we ended up with such a blunt, messy result for the southern end of Teel Pkwy.

The city’s Hike and Bike Master Plan does indicate a Greenway Trail south of Teel and it is likely that some sort of transition from the pavement of Teel to the trail system would be developed. As stated in the posting, Teel was built with the intention of crossing the Corps of Engineer’s floodplain reservation and connecting to The Colony. At the time when the area developed, a decision had to be made regarding Teel, and was made according to what was believed would occur with the extension of Teel. Development and the infrastructure to support it was needed and did not wait for final determination regarding connection to The Colony.
