Is there some sort of city tax that is keeping gas prices higher in Frisco? On Monday I filled up for $2.06 in Carrollton. Monday night most places (that I saw) in Frisco were at $2.29. This morning the stations along the DNT were still at $2.19.

Is there anything that can be done to make Frisco gas prices more competitive, not only to save us money, but to keep the tax dollars here in the city?

There is no special or local gas tax that is imposed on gas stations in Frisco. The only reason for differing prices within Frisco or surounding areas are market conditions.

Do you think Frisco's restriction on mid-block gas stations (QT, Racetrack) is causing excessive gas prices?

The gas stations such as QT and Racetrack are and have looked at sites in Frisco and these locations have been on the corner at major intersections. They are in the process of preparing applications for various sites in the City.

Jason Gray, Assistant City Manager, indicates that the average gas price in the Dallas market is $2.02. City staff has seen $1.99 at the Kroger on Preston Road. These prices are compariable to other locations in Plano.
