I frequently get telephone solicitations from different Police Associations. Is there anywhere I can do research to determine if they are legitimate ones I might want to contribute to?

I am not an advocate of police associations soliciting contributions by telephone. The solicitation company makes the majority of the money and gives a small percentage to the association. There is also no real way to know if the person calling you actually represents a police association.
The Texas Police Chiefs Association, of which I am a member, is involved in this activity and I have asked they not contact citizens in Frisco.
