At Independence and 121, are there any plans to add an additional right turn lane from Independence southbound onto the southbound 121 access road (or perhaps add a dynamic sign to allow demand-based right turns from the right-most straight lane)? The morning rush hour backup is getting bad, and loads are going to increase dramatically with the rapid expansion of Richwoods, Stonelake, Lawler Park, Willow Bay, etc.

We will be watching this area of increased growth to see if signal operations and lane configurations need to be adjusted or modified in this area. Traffic Engineering observed the problems in the morning you refer to for the southbound traffic on Independence. They talked to the City of Plano (they control the signal timings along SH 121) and they fixed an error in their programming that will more than double the amount of time the southbound traffic gets in the AM peak.
