I have noticed a lot of work (heavy grading of the land) going on between Pink Elementary and Griffin Middle School. Can you share what the plans are for that area and any time frames for those plans?

This area will be utilized as both play and activity areas for the schools and as park space for the City. It is a joint project between FISD and the City. I do not know what the plans call for or the time table for development other than that the area will be ready for the fall opening of school.

Thanks for your note regarding the work that is taking place between Pink Elementary and Griffin Middle School.

In regard to Scott Ingalls response to you, I need to clarify that while we have discussed the possibility of ultimately developing park amenities in an area between the two schools, we do not currently own or control the activities at this site.

In an effort to help address your question on the grading work, I had a conversation this morning with Richard Wilkinson (469-633-6030), with the Frisco Independent School District. Mr. Wilkinson indicated that the District had originally brought in some clean fill material to help level this area. Unfortunately, they also had some illegal dumping take place at the site and are now in the process of cleaning that up. Richard can provide a better picture of the timetable for that work to be completed.

In regard to the time frame of a park at this location, I would tell you that there has been no defined timeline in which this possible park development would be taking place.

Projects such as this are discussed on a regular basis with the Parks and Recreation Board and I anticipate that further discussion of this possible project will take place over the next 2-3 months.

I apologize for any confusion or misinformation that this might have caused. If you continue to have any questions about this, please feel free to let me or our staff know.
