Is there any news on the location of the new fire station for Northwest Fisco (near Teel and El Dorado Parkway)? More specifically, has an exact or approximate site been determined?

Mr. Hazel,

As we discussed at the homeowner's meeting in December regarding a possible fire station site on Lenox Lane, we reviewed the area facing Eldorado that is now a practice field for Griffin Middle School. That site was found to be feasible, with the emergency approach being onto Eldorado.

After the plan was developed, we have met with the homeowners closest to the Eldorado location. Their response indicated that they were interested in us making efforts to focus on reducing any impact on property values, safety, and noise. I subsequently met with the HOA for that area and sent invitations to approximately 80 homes in the area for a meeting to that was held at Frisco Fire Station 4. It appears that most, if not all, concerns have been addressed for these homeowners.

During the process we did identify one person who was opposed to the plan and several who were in favor of the plan. Many of those in favor of this plan had expressed concerns about the previous plan. To the best of my knowledge, no one adjacent to the site is opposed to the current plan.

We hope to move forward, possibly at the first City Council Meeting in June, with a recommendation to proceed with this project. I have told all the residents in the area that we will make every effort to inform them of when this will be brought before the City Council and I will include that information as a part of this posting at the time the exact meeting is determined.

Should you are anyone else have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me at any time.

Thanks,
Mack
