Thank you for your concerns. The work needed to proceed to keep schedule with the rest of the City Hall construction. With the new facility, there will be a large increase to the number of people coming into Frisco Square. We could not leave the Plaza without landscaping. The City’s Stage 3 Restrictions allow new construction to install such landscaping. We are following the same rules as everyone else with new buildings. Further, we are planting native trees and in the central planting area of the plaza, vitex trees are being planted. These vitex trees are drought tolerant and are actually coming from Arizona.
Drip irrigation is being put in for the trees, so that the most effective and efficient irrigation is being used. Buffalo grass, which is drought tolerant, is being placed around the City Hall with Bermuda grass being placed in the plaza.
