With all the new development on Legacy (Park Place etc.) and after connecting Cotton Gin to Stonebrook, are there any plans for a traffic light at Legacy and Cotton Gin? One has to cross 6 lanes of Legacy going at 45-50 mph on Cotton Gin.

The intersection of Legacy Drive and Cotton Gin Road is on our list of locations being considered for a traffic signal in the future. We maintain a priority list of intersections across the City considered for a traffic signal based on total traffic volumes and the analysis of conflicting movements. We then assign our limited funding to the top priority locations.

We are just beginning the process of recalculating the City-wide priority list for 2013 and updating our traffic counts collected across the City. However, I do not expect Legacy at Cotton Gin to be in the top 10 of the list for 2013. We will continue to consider it in future years in terms of its priority and our funding. Based on development occurring in this area and the future extension of Cotton Gin, this location may move up in priority in the next couple of years.
