Does Frisco housing code allow for the installation of gas cooktops on kitchen islands?

Building Code allows for the installation of gas cooktops at island locations. This is easiest done during new home construction as it would require a gas line be ran in a vented sleeve within or under a building’s foundation. In addition, all new home construction would be required to meet minimum indoor air quality standards with the installation of a ‘down-draft’ exhaust vented to the exterior of the home to eliminate byproducts of combustion and cooking. This also would require installation of a duct within or under a building’s foundation. The actual installation may be more technical than previously described, feel free to contact me directly if you have concerns or question requiring a more detailed answer.

Thank you,
