I have noticed the addition of sidwalks to North County and Allstar. But, I don't see why old downtown and the Frisco square do not have a sidewalk on Main street. That seems to be a necessity considering how busy that road is and how much it could help knit the old and the new. I think the only stretch that doesn't have a sidewalk is from John Elliot to First street. Is there a plan to add this sidewalk?

The City does plan to add sidewalk connections between downtown and Frisco Square along Main Street and along Frisco Square Boulevard. However, in both cases, those sidewalks will cross the railroad tracks, which complicates the construction of the sidewalks. The Railroad owns the land on either side of the tracks and we cannot build sidewalks across their land without their permission and without their participation. We have started the process to get the permits to build the sidewalk, but it will take several more months to complete that process and for the Railroad to build their part of the crossing on their tracks. We expect these sidewalk connections to be made sometime in mid-2013.

(The trail along All Stars Avenue was able to be built now because a sidewalk crossing had been built across the tracks several years ago as part of the construction of the road.)

I have been meaning to ask this question for weeks.... months now.
I'm wondering if they are waiting for the ground to freeze.

There has been a new sidewalk along Main Street from the new Braum's/Walgreens area to the Trails, and further.

But there remains 3 spots that are incomplete for some reason..... not sure if it's drainage issues or not.... they are flat areas. Cement shortage?

There is a Time Warner vault that needs to be relocated and compliance issues addressed. The contractor has been notified.
