I was wondering when the lighting upgrades will be completed on Eldorado Pkwy between DNT and FM423?

Also, since it appears irrigation is being installed, I'm assuming there will be some trees planted or other landscaping installed? Do you have any details on what this will be and when it will be completed?

I was also wondering if there will be sidewalks/retaining walls installed on the south side of Eldorado between Lenox and Legacy?

Thanks for the info, I am very pleased with the progress on Eldorado the last couple years.

Mr. Nick,

The lighting installation on Eldorado between FM 423 and DNT is nearing completion. The lights should be operational at this time. We are currently going through the testing period and final inspections of the project.

The irrigation and landscaping is currently being installed by TxDOT as part of a Green Ribbon program to provide landscaping on state maintained roadways. The project is a cooperative project between TxDOT and Frisco. There will be trees included in the medians. The project is expected to be completed by March.

At this time, there will not be any sidewalk on the south side of Eldorado between Lenox and Legacy. There was not enough room between the curb and neighborhood walls to include the sidewalk at this location without rebuilding the neighborhood walls. The City plans on installing a signal at Eldorado and Lenox which would allow pedestrians to safely cross to the sidewalk on the north side of Eldorado. We are working with TxDOT to get the signal authorized; however, we do not have an estimated installation date at this time.

at what point will there be landscaping on the medians on Eldorado between Independence and Custer Road? For 5 years now, the road has looked as barren as ever and doesn't represent the neighborhoods that surround it very well.

We are currently working on the design to widen Eldorado Parkway to 6 lanes from Preston Road to Custer Road. Lighting and landscaping is included in the design of the project.

At this time, I do not have a definite time when construction will begin; however, this is a project that we would like to begin as soon as possible.

There are lots of newly planted trees in the center median of Eldorado PKWY (between FM 423 & DNT) that are heavily tilted and falling over. A few trees are staked, but most are not. Unless they are all staked properly, their root systems will dry up causing these trees to die. Can someone please look into fixing these trees before they die?

The tree planting is being done under a TxDOT construction project in the median of Eldorado Parkway from FM 423 to DNT. TxDOT held a preliminary inspection this morning concerning this project and has directed the contractor to address the problem with the trees that are leaning.

Am not sure where this goes in Frisco Q&A..

This is part of an overall active survey of safety in our neighborhood conducted by the Safety Committee of the Dominion @ Panther Creek HOA.

This is a request for a time line if possible for the median lighting at the following locations:

Eldorado / Preston Road intersection east to Eldorado / Hillcrest intersection

Eldorado / Hillcrest intersection

Hillcrest north to existing median lighting north of Haversham

Thank you for your assistance

The City of Frisco is currently designing a roadway widening project along Eldorado Pkwy between Preston Road and Custer Road that will include installing all of the missing median lighting within the project limits. This project is at the 95% design stage and construction is planned to begin this summer.

The City of Frisco also has a separate lighting design project that will install the median lighting on Hillcrest Road between Eldorado Pkwy and Haversham Dr. This project is going to be bid with several other sections of median lighting within the City that need to be installed. One of the sections that will be included in this bid is Preston Road between SH 121 and Gaylord Pkwy, which is awaiting TxDOT review and approval. The City will bid this project as soon as we receive TxDOT approval.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Thanks!
