What will the City do to stop the soccer moms and dads parking on and speeding through residential streets like Chinquapin and Juniper by Warren Sports Complex? The situation is completely out of control, especially this morning when Frisco firefighters and EMTs were responding to an emergency at my neighbors house. We had dozens of soccer moms and dads going up and down the street while all that was going on. And when the street was partially blocked because our firefighters/EMTs were doing their job, those soccer moms and dad just kept driving through, making it unsafe for those responders (clear violations of Sec. 545.407 and 545.157 of the TX Transportation Code). And it's not just a problem when there is an emergency. Every game day and game night in Warren Sports Complex, soccer moms and dads park on both sides of our streets for half their length, hindering the safe movement of vehicles in both directions, blocking our alleyways, making it difficult to turn safely, etc. There are signs posted all along North County Road and other streets by the complex directing people using Warren not to park on residential streets. There is also a city ordinance covering parks and recreation facilities that states "It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to comply with the directions of any sign. The existence of any sign purporting to direct or regulate vehicular or pedestrian traffic shall be prima facie evidence that the same was posted by or at the direction of the parks and recreation director." Will the City enforce this and stop soccer moms and dads from parking where the signs say they musn't?
