Our residents at Creekside at Preston, as well as the Apartment Complex and other communities in the area are having quite a bit of trouble with both the Mockingbird and Panther Creek intersections with Preston. Mockingbird sports a lot of fairly deep pot holes in the dirt they've attempted to pack as a street.

Panther Creek is even worse. With the steep ramp that is there, not only are there very poor sightlines, creating a dangerous situation when attempting to turn out onto Preston, but the deepening holes and loose dirt on the ramp is causing vehicles to pelt the vehicle behind them with rocks and debris. The dirt ramp also causes people turning onto Panther Creek to have to come to a near stop when turning off of Preston, creating a number of near rear-end accidents.

How much longer will we have to deal with those particular conditions, and is there any way we can get the contractor to regrade and repack the ramps to attempt to improve conditions until the next traffic switch is made?

Two upcoming changes on the Preston Road construction project should help the temporary transitions currently in place on Mockingbird and Panther Creek. First, currently scheduled for the end of next week, the Panther Creek signal light will be activated. This will provide signal protection for turning traffic at Panther Creek.

Also, the traffic switch on to the new pavement is scheduled to occur before the end of June. The temporary transitions from the new pavement to the old are only necessary until this traffic switch occurs.
